Your care routine

Light

Use indirect light and protect from cold drafts.

Watering

Water thoroughly after the upper 2.5 cm of mix dries; allow excess water to drain.

Soil & drainage

An airy, organic houseplant mix with perlite, in a pot with drainage holes.

Fertilizer

Feed during active growth with a balanced plant fertilizer at the label rate. Avoid feeding dormant plants or a dry root ball.

Temperature

Keep in a stable, frost-free room, usually about 18–26°C, away from cold drafts and heating vents.

Humidity

Higher humidity is suitable.

Through the seasons

During darker Vancouver autumn and winter days, check soil moisture before watering and reduce feeding as growth slows. Acclimatize plants gradually to stronger spring light.

When your plant needs help

  • Waterlogged soil can damage roots; check drainage before watering again.
  • Inspect new growth and leaf undersides for pests and isolate affected plants.

Pets & little ones

All parts are harmful if chewed; irritating sap can affect skin and eyes. Keep away from children and pets and wear gloves when pruning.
